AI that helps your child learn.
Without the risks of a phone.
Nexus Pen gives students instant AI assistance for schoolwork while removing every distraction, social media risk, and inappropriate content concern you have about putting a phone in their hands.
Built with protection at every layer.
We designed Nexus Pen knowing parents would be the ones approving the purchase. Every safety concern was addressed in the product itself.
Content Filtering
Donna, the Nexus Pen AI, filters all responses through content safety layers. Inappropriate language, adult content, and harmful information are blocked at the model level before any response is generated. School Mode adds an extra academic-appropriate constraint on top.
No Social Media. Ever.
Nexus Pen cannot access social media, messaging apps, video platforms, or any website. It is not a smartphone. It does not have a browser. The only thing it does is connect to Donna via your child's phone over Bluetooth — a single, controlled, monitored connection.
COPPA Compliant
Nexus Pen accounts for users under 13 comply fully with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. We do not collect, store, or share personal data from minors without parental consent. Accounts can be created and managed by a parent on behalf of their child.
Encrypted Communications
All communication between the pen and the Nexus Pen backend is encrypted in transit via TLS. Voice data is processed and immediately discarded — we do not store recordings of your child's voice or questions beyond the active session.
School Mode Guardrails
School Mode is specifically tuned to support learning, not replace it. Donna explains concepts, gives context, and guides thinking — she does not simply write essays or provide verbatim homework answers. She helps students understand material, not cheat on it.
No Notifications or Alerts
Nexus Pen does not send push notifications, marketing messages, or engagement prompts to your child. There is no algorithm trying to maximize screen time. The pen has no screen to maximize. It sits in their pencil case until they need it.
Real improvement.
Real fast.
The research on handwriting versus typing is clear: students retain more when they write by hand. Nexus Pen is the only AI tool that keeps students writing while giving them instant support — the best of both worlds.
Stay informed. Stay in control.
With a Plus or Pro plan, parents get access to a usage dashboard that shows how and when their student is using Nexus Pen — without invading their privacy.

What parents are saying.
We asked parents of Nexus Pen students to share their experience. Here's what they told us.
"My biggest concern was that I was just buying my daughter another way to be on her phone. But Nexus Pen doesn't touch her phone while she's using it — she just has the pen. The Bluetooth handoff is seamless and she's never once pulled out her phone during homework since we got it. That alone is worth $119."Jennifer R. Parent of a 9th grader, Naperville, IL
"My son has ADHD and focus has always been our biggest challenge with homework. The Nexus Pen keeps him on task because getting help is instant — he doesn't have to break his concentration to search for an answer. His homework time has gone from 3 hours to about 90 minutes. I'm not exaggerating."David M. Parent of an 8th grader, Chicago, IL
"I was worried about the AI giving my daughter incorrect information or encouraging her to cheat. After three months of use, I can say both fears were unfounded. She uses it to check her understanding after doing the work herself, and the School Mode explanations are genuinely educational."Anita S. Parent of a college freshman, Oak Park, IL
"The parent dashboard was a pleasant surprise. I can see that my son is using it daily — mostly in School Mode during the 4–6pm homework window — without seeing anything that violates his privacy. It's the transparency I wanted without being overbearing."Marcus T. Parent of a 10th grader, Evanston, IL
